Proficiency Badges

As a member of the Club, the following cloth badges can be earned by you, some of them before your first grading.  They are sewn onto the arm of your karate suit.  If you would like to be assessed for a badge just ask one of your instructors.

Attendance: One awarded for each year of your training.

Balancing: Awarded for balancing for 1 minute on each leg.

 Blocking: Awarded for correctly naming 4 out of 5 demonstrated blocks.

Bo Kata: Awarded for correctly performing first Bo Kata.

 Good Behaviour: Awarded for consistent good behaviour (an example to others).

 First 3 Katas: Awarded for correctly performing the first 3 Kata forms.

 Heian Shodan: Awarded for correctly performing Heian Shodan (4th Kata).

 Heian Nidan: Awarded for correctly performing Heian Nidan (5th Kata).

 

   Heian Sandan: Awarded for correctly performing Heian Sandan (6th Kata).

  

Heian Yodan: Awarded for correctly performing Heian Yodan (7th Kata).

 Heian Godan: Awarded for correctly performing Heian Godan (8th Kata).

  Kicking: Awarded for correctly naming 4 out of 5 demonstrated kicks.

 Punching: Awarded for correctly naming 4 out 0f 5 hand attacks.

 Makio: Awarded for correctly performing Makio Kata.

Posture: Awarded for correctly naming 4 out of 4 postures.

 Press Ups: Awarded for correctly performing press ups (5 for Minors, 10 for Juniors).

 Sit Ups: Awarded for correctly performing sit ups (5 for Minors, 10 for Juniors).

 

Tying Your Belt: Awarded for correctly tying your belt.
